Telecom Australia 891 Series WallFone

These phones were a late arrival into the modernised Telecom Australia range. They didn't show up until the late 1970s, nearly ten years after the 800 series of table phones.A lot of design work was put into them, and this set is the first color range issued. They were attractive, light, reliable and were comfortable to use. The basic form was later upgraded to a touchtone range. Compare these with the Kellogg wall phone shown later in this section. The Kellogg was an import for the Telecom Workshops to evaluate during design of the 891.

In the Telecom Sales Offices we were very proud of these phones - they looked great, they worked well, and the customers loved them.
